Ceramic Capacitive Pressure Sensor
ESS505 Ceramic Capacitive Pressure Sensor is designed with a ceramic base plate and a flush diaphragm, operating on the capacitive principle, where pressure measurement is determined by the variation in capacitance due to the deformation of the capacitor’s plates.
The movable capacitor plate is screen-printed on the flush ceramic diaphragm, which is subsequently affixed to the sensor’s body. This capacitor plate faces inward towards a cavity, allowing the diaphragm’s opposite side to be directly exposed to the medium being measured. The sensor’s vent hole is safeguarded against humidity and dirt by a specialized filter attached to the ceramic cell (PCS).
With a substantial diameter of 21 mm and the implementation of capacitive technology, the ESS505 sensor is adept at measuring low pressures, down to 5 bar. Despite this, ESS505 sensors are notable for their high burst pressure, rendering them highly reliable for a variety of applications.
Due to the excellent chemical resistance of Al2O3 ceramic (against aggressive gases, most solvents, and acids), additional protection is typically unnecessary. ESS505 sensors are available in both gauge and absolute versions.
ESS505 can also be conditioned to produce amplified signal, like rationmetric 0.5-4.5V.
